A return to simplicity, nature and slowing down
Hochovec is a cottage that breathes the harmony of nature, tucked into a meadow, surrounded by forest and mountain quiet. Mornings here open with birdsong, days are made for hikes and bike rides over the hills, and evenings glow by the fireplace or around the fire pit under the stars, with a glass of wine or the homemade Bošáca plum brandy no guest should miss.
We built the house where an older family home from the Second World War once stood. Architects from Bratislava (academic architect Fedor Spiška, 2013) gave it its current shape in a project aptly named "Rekreačný dom Tradícia" ("Tradition holiday house"): a wood-shingle roof stained mahogany, a facade clad in mahogany-toned timber, a slate plinth and paving, copper gutters and a covered porch. We keep writing this place's story, and we most enjoy sharing it with guests who know how to savour nature the way we do.

- shops and restaurants are a 5-minute drive away
Your own pond, with animals just over the fence
The natural pond
A pond about 25 metres across (roughly 70 m around), with a stone rim and its own spring-fed well. We finished it in summer 2026, so the planting hasn't filled in yet; the greenery grows in a little more every month. Fishing is on the way, and benches around it are there for relaxing.
Goats and sheep
3 goats and 5 sheep live in the enclosure by the cottage. Feel free to step inside and spend time with them. They're still a little shy, but once they get used to you they're very affectionate. Please just don't feed them, and close the gate behind you.

Address: Nová Bošáca No. 410, the cottage sits on a hill above the village, get directions to the exact spot. about 30 minutes' drive from Nové Mesto nad Váhom · shops and restaurants are a 5-minute drive away.
The cottage stands in the forest, high on a hill above the village, in a spot so secluded that all you'll hear is the rustle of trees and wind carrying the scent of meadow flowers.
Access: the last stretch is a private forest road; the safest way to reach the cottage by car is with a 4x4 (parking for about 4 cars). Without a 4x4 you can comfortably park by the gate and walk up the rest of the way.

Payment and cancellation
- 50% of the total is paid when the booking is confirmed, the rest at the latest one day before arrival.
- Deposits paid are non-refundable.
- The damage deposit is refunded in full once the cottage is returned undamaged.
